Jeffrey Gitomer's Little Red Book of Selling – The "V Book" Edition
Opportunity
Outspoken, uncompromising, and hugely successful sales guru Jeffrey Gitomer is the brand. His series of seven books has sold millions of copies. All the books have a unique size, construction, and feel; the rich colored cloth, foil stamping, embedded 4/C graphics and ribbon bookmark set the benchmark to be met by our packaging– which had to boast the same flair and brand recognition. Furthering the challenge, the presentation would launch the publisher's innovative new product concept, the first ever “V book” whose content is provided in a multiplatform of MP3, digital download, and DVD.
Solution
Working closely with the client's creative team, Tri-Plex conceived a rigid paperboard, hinged clamshell design that feels and functions like a book. A durable, textured Rainbow 80 matte paper delivered the clothlike appeal, and shiny black-foil stamping completed the look. The 4/C, heavy - caliper belly band finished the package so that it could be sold in stores without shrink wrap. This key aspect of the package design meant to capture the tactile charm of the original book by appealing to the customer's hands as well as eyes. The multiple-disc set was presented in a custom-designed paperboard wallet with the built-in flexibility to accommodate up to 6 discs.

Jeffrey Gitomer is all about success, and so are we. This was an extremely exciting assignment: nothing less than a best seller would do. Look out for this brand– new genre of media publishing, the V book, in stores today.
