Opportunity

Our client, Discovery Channel, needed a collector’s box for their popular series, American Choppers. It was to be an 8-disc set, with the discs individually packaged in plastic thinpack cases, so we had to design an exterior package with collector appeal.

Solution

Having a relatively short lead time for this set, we chose a straightforward domestic solution – our popular "shoulder style" rigid box– and took full advantage of the iconic characters and chopper art for decoration. Using a taller profile lid maximized the primary artwork area, and the lower profile base allowed for an internal product display and provides ease of disc removal.

Result

The extreme accuracy of our Emmeci box-making machinery ensures nearly perfect crossovers of graphics from lid to base. The effective combination of structural choice and graphic integration resulted in a package that is functional, economical, and suitable for display on every collector’s shelf or entertainment center.
