The most popular children's television program in history needed a package presentation that was fun, original, and earth-friendly. We wanted the package— a five-disc set and collector’s book— to convey joy and playfulness, a package that would engage the eyes, the hands, and the heart in remembering the much-loved Howdy Doody.

Solution

The package was designed around our eco-friendly and patent-pending DVD wallet to hold the discs. Once the bold and colorful graphics were introduced by our client, Mill Creek Entertainment, the construction further morphed: combining the durability of rigid chipboard with the economy and function of folding paperboard, it boasts a sliding rigid tray that holds both the book and disc wallet, along with a special contoured, die-cut folding closure panel to contain everything neatly inside. Our design team gave careful thought to creating a package that imparts the entertaining and interactive appeal that the show itself embodied— all made with more than 50% recycled materials.

Used as a focal point for a full-page advertisement in Home Media Magazine, coupled with the feedback consumers have posted on Amazon.com® about the release and its packaging, our client is both proud and pleased.
